Week 8: Purity Ring

I honestly don’t have a clue what led me to start looking at more electric pop, dance, alternative? I don’t even know how to classify this duo. But I’ll tell you this, if you put on their album–turn it low–the beats are awesome and the lyrics not too distracting to be able to listen to while jamming out some writing. Apparently when you see them live, Purity Ring mixes an awesome music and lights show. Any friends in Asheville have the opportunity to see them soon when they hit The Orange Peel January 26.

I might do a Canadian countdown for January since I’m headed northward soon. This group, made up of Megan James and Corin Roddick, are from Alberta. Many of the songs on their debut album, Shrines, which came out in July sound fairly similar; but my favorite is unsurprisingly the one that rose the highest in charts–and is thus the one that I leave you with today:
